I realise that the software is only capable of dealing with the electronic side of the saw. The cost was around the $150 mark, so not too bad at all. I have had it confirmed by Baileys that the software is available and unrestricted. Maybe a dealer or modder on here can tell you what they think. So even if you did procure a device/module, unless the purveyor of the module was ready and willing to supply you with software and firmware updates through some means (either CD, link to download, or dropbox type sharing) even if you had the tools you would not necessarily have the updates, or steady and reliable access to them. I am fairly sure that the autotune updates are not publicly available on the website. Subsequent updates could either come via cd or internet to dealers. ![]() I would imagine that the interface/module/cable/whatever is accompanied by a CD of software current to the module. Several individuals in the business of building and modding saws on this site now acknowledge and at a time advertised that they have the autotune diagnostics tools so this may mean that you can get one. It is not clear whether or not the dealers have been instructed that they can sell it, that they cant sell it, or whether no distinction has been made. ![]() It seems like it's possible, however, to procure an interface and at least the current version of software which accompanies it from willing dealers who can order the item. The autotune connection interface and software are "intended" primarily for dealers/service centers. PS.Here's my guess of the situation from bits that I have gleamed: So I may have to swap out the new parts carburettor, and new ignition coil when I get it, just to make sure it will run my chainsaw properly. Oh, also today I ordered the ignition module for autotune, and was told that it does not need to be programmed, which totally does not make sense since I believe that is where the firmware chips/ electronics are located in that module. If, I get any Information on this matter, I will also keep you in the loop. I know this is not much help for you, but please keep me in the loop, when you do get an answer, I would definitely be interrested in buying the diagnostic tool for my "Autotune" chainsaws, and also getting access to the downloadable files. ![]() The individual informed me that they did not want someone changing the emissions settings, which I am not sure that you really can with the software anyhow. Next, I was told by the Dealer that I would be unable to Download the file which would be needed for my specific carburettor, that you needed to have access to a Dealers Website in order to get the download file. I should have bought frequent flyer miles for my carburetor.Īnyhow, I was told by my supplier, that I could not purchase the diagnostic tool, which seems kind of hokie to me, since I do all my own maintenance and repairs including cylinder and piston changeouts and carburettor re-builds when necessary to several of my various Husqvarna chainsaws models. They shipped me the carburetor un-programmed, and then I sent it back, and then they return shipped it to me again. I went through almost the same thing, and I ended up sending the carburetor back to the supplier, who ended up paying the shipping on it three times.
